IAG JAPAN NOV 2021 40 MEET THE PANEL Member of the Advisory Board, Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming, University of Macau マカオ大学博彩研究所諮問委員会委員 GRANT BOWIE グラント・ボウイ GRANT BOWIE was formerly Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited until his retirement on 31 May 2020. He was responsible for the overall management, strategic development and expansion of the Company including the direction and operations of MGM Macau and MGM Cotai. Grant joined MGM in August 2008 as President. Prior to this, he was President and General Manager of Wynn Resorts in Macau from 2003 to 2007. Before arriving in Macau, Grant spent 16 years with Park Place Entertainment Corporation in Australia, holding senior positions in gaming, general finance and hotel operations. His last position held was Area Senior Vice President overseeing all Australian operations. Grant was educated in New Zealand and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Otago in 1980. He was recognized by leading financial publication Institutional Investor as “Best CEO” in the All-Asia Executive Team survey for three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017. He is currently a Member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming at the University of Macau and an adjunct professor of Tourism and Leisure Management at the University of Queensland. Previously, he was a member of the Australian Federal Government’s Tourism Forecasting Council, Chairman of Queensland’s Responsible Gambling Advisory Committee and a member of the National Advisory Body on Gambling. グラント氏 は、MGMチャイナホールディングスの元最高経営 責任者兼執行役員で、2020年5月31日に退職した。会社全体 の管理、戦略的発展および拡大を担当しており、MGMマカオと MGMコタイの指揮・運営などを行った。同は、2008年8月に社長 としてMGMに入社した。それ以前は、マカオのウィン・リゾーツ で2003年から2007年まで社長兼ゼネラルマネージャーを務め た。マカオに来る前、オーストラリアのパーク・プレイス・エンタ ーテインメントで16年を過ごしたグラント氏は、ゲーミング、一 般財務およびホテル運営の上級職を歴任した。最後の役職は、 オーストラリア全事業を監督するエリアシニアバイスプレジデン トだった。 グラント氏はニュージーランドで学び、1980年にオタゴ大学 で商学の学位を取得した。2015年から2017年まで大手金融誌 「Institutional Investor」の「All-Asia Executive Team」調査で 3年連続「Best CEO」に選ばれた。現在は、マカオ大学博彩研究 所の諮問委員会委員およびクイーンズランド大学観光・レジャ ー経営学部の非常勤教師を務めている。これまでに、豪連邦政 府の観光予測協議会(Tourism Forecasting Council)委員、クイ ーンズランド州責任あるゲーミング諮問委員会委員、そしてギャ ンブル全国諮問委員会の委員を務めた経験を持つ。
