In September, Delta Corp revealed that its plan to develop an IR in Pernem, north Goa, had received approval from the Goa Investment Promotion Board. The complex will include hotels, a convention center, multiplex cinema, retail area, electronic casino, a water park and other facilities. In March, Delta Corp also said it was going to build a new ship to replace one of its three floating casinos. The ship will substitute the smaller Deltin Caravela and it is expected to be operational by mid-2022. Nonetheless, Delta Corp has not been immune from the pressures the COVID-19 pandemic has inflicted on the global tourism and entertainment sector, announcing in October a US$3 million loss for the three months to 30 September 2021, only slightly improved from a US$3.8 million 2Q loss although significantly better than 1Q’s US$7.3 million loss.
