The latest addition to GEG’s flagship property, which is set to include the Galaxy International Convention Center, a number of new hotels plus more gaming and retail space, had been scheduled to open in late 2021. But GEG Vice Chairman Francis Lui told media during the company’s 2Q21 results announcement press conference that, pending government approvals, it was now aiming for an early 2022 launch. “Given the situation where the pandemic is still not under full control, it is very hard to determine the exact date of the opening, because the pandemic to a certain extent determines our access to building materials and workers coming to Macau,” said Lui. “Within our capabilities we are trying to manage it well and we hope that by early next year, part of the Phase 3 project can be commissioned and opened for business.” ギャラクシー・エンターテインメント・グループ（GEG） は新型コ ロナの影響により労働力の確保が出来ず遅延をきたしている ギャラクシー・マカオの第3フェーズ開業を、2022年まで延期す ることを発表した。 ギャラクシー・インターナショナル・コンベンションセンター と多数の新しいホテル、そしてより広いゲーミングとリテールス ペースの併設が計画されているGEGの最新旗艦施設は、2021 年後半に開業予定でであった。 しかし、GEGのフランシス・ルイ副会長は、同社の21年第2四 半期決算発表記者会見で、政府の承認を待って、2022年初頭 の開業を目指しているとメディアに語った。 同氏は、以下のように述べている。 「パンデミックをまだ完全に封じ込めていない状況を考え ると、正確な開業日を決定することは非常に難しい。なぜなら、 パンデミックはある程度マカオに入って来る建築資材と労働者 の流れに影響するからだ。我々は、能力の範囲内でそれをうま く管理しようと努めている。来年の初めまでに、第3フェーズ開 発計画の一部が発注でき、開業できることを願っている」
