Yet even Chun has been challenged like never before by the events of 2020. Still, he continues to see benefit from the Live Multi-Game (LMG) terminals developed more than a decade ago by Paradise subsidiary LT Game – literally a game-changer for Macau’s casino operators given the cap on gaming tables imposed by the government. Those same terminals have proven particularly popular during COVID, with the GGR they have generated as a percentage of casino- wide revenue at Casino Kam Pek Paradise increasing from 38.8% to 55.4% during the first half of 2020. Still, there has been plenty of change in the air for Chun this year after Paradise opted to cease providing casino management services at Casino Waldo from 1 March 2020 – a decision it said “has proved itself to be the right move for our cost control program.” That leaves only Kam Pek under Paradise’s watch in the casino management space. Chun was also forced to cancel this year’s MGS Entertainment Show, usually held at The Venetian Macao each November, joining the myriad of trade events put on hold as a result of the virus.
