IAG JAPAN JUN 2020 16 「IR反対派」の宇都宮氏が立候補： 7月5日投開票の東京都知事選に KENJI UTSUNOMIYA TO CAMPAIGN AGAINST TOKYO IR DEVELOPMENT IN BID TO BECOME NEW GOVERNOR FORMER CHAIRMAN of the Japan Federation of Bar Associations, Kenji Utsunomiya, announced at a press conference at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office that he will run for the position of governor of Tokyo as an independent. Utsunomiya, 73, will be campaigning on improving the healthcare system and welfare for non-salaried employees as measures against the COVID-19 pandemic, as reported by the Jiji Press. He will also campaign against the development of an integrated resort in Japan’s capital city. “There are many who are losing their jobs due to COVID-19,” Utsunomiya said this week. “The people who suffer most are those who are economically and socially vulnerable. There are no measures that reach out to them.” Utsunomiya criticized the incumbent, Yuriko Koike, for what he described as insufficient measures. Utsunomiya was defeated in 2012 and 2014 in the gubernatorial elections. In 2016 he quit the race to yield to Shuntaro Torigoe. Koike has not yet revealed whether she will run again for governor. The election will be held on 5 July. 元日弁連会長 の宇都宮健児氏（73）は、東京都庁 で記者会見し、任期満了に伴う都知事選（6月18 日告示、7月5日投開票）に無所属で出馬すると発 表した。新型コロナウイルス感染症に対応するた め、医療提供体制の充実や非正規雇用者らの生 活保障などを訴えるという。時事通信が伝えた。 自身のツイッターで立候補を表明。同日の朝 日新聞の取材に対し、カジノを含む統合型リゾー ト（IR）の誘致反対などを訴える方針を明らかに した。 会見では「新型コロナウイルスの影響で、仕事 や住まいを失う都民がたくさん出てきている」と 指摘。「しわ寄せを一番受けるのは経済的、社会 的困難を抱えている人。そこに手を差し伸べる施 策が行われていない」と述べ、小池百合子都政の 対策は不十分だと批判した。 宇都宮氏は2012年と14年の知事選で、次点で 落選。前回の16年には、野党統一候補の鳥越俊 太郎氏に譲る形で出馬を取りやめていた。
