2020 年 6月 IAG JAPAN 15 WAKAYAMA EXTENDS RFP DEADLINE BY TWO MONTHS 「和歌山IR」提案期限を延期 WAKAYAMA prefecture has announced that it will extend the deadline for operators to submit material as part of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process by almost two months, from 31 August to 19 October, due to the impact of COVID-19. The delay comes after just two companies, Hong Kong’s Suncity Group and Canadian IR investment firm Clairvest Group, responded to Wakayama’s RFP assessment call in April. Philippines IR operator Bloomberry Resorts and French firm Groupe Barrière were among the notable absentees at the time with Bloomberry citing difficulties in meeting the timeline due to COVID-19. In response, Wakayama prefecture has nowextended its timeline, with operator selection also pushed back from November 2020 to January 2021. The prefecture maintains its goal of opening an IR by 2025. Wakayama is one of four locations openly in the running to develop one of three integrated resorts nationwide, alongside Yokohama, Osaka and Nagasaki. All have now confirmed delays to their schedules. 和歌山県 は、誘致をめざす統合型リゾート（IR）について、運営 に応募した企業が事業提案を提出する期限を8月31日から10 月19日に延期すると発表した。日本経済新聞が伝えた。 新型コロナウイルスの影響で応募企業の活動が制限されて いることに配慮した。運営事業者を決める時期も11月中旬か ら2021年1月ごろに変えた。25年春ごろのIR開業目標は維持す る。和歌山県は3月にIR事業者の公募を始め、カナダに本社が あるIR投資会社「クレアベスト・グループ」とマカオなどでカジ ノ関連事業を展開する「サンシティグループ」が応募している。 その時に撤退した事業者の中で注目すべきは、フィリピンのIR 事業者、ブルームベリー・リゾーツとフランスのバリエールグル ープで、ブルームベリーは新型コロナの影響で期限を守ること が難しくなったと理由を説明した。 それに応じて和歌山県は、現在期限を延長しており、事業者 選定もまた2020年11月から2021年1月に先送りにしている。 和歌山県の2025年までのIR開業という目標は変わっていな い。 IRを巡っては大阪府・市、横浜市、長崎県、和歌山県が誘致 に名乗りを挙げている。ただし、新型コロナウイルスの影響を 受け、大阪府・市も事業提案の提出期限や事業者選定の時期 を3カ月先送りしている。
